Frequently Asked Questions
Creating an Account
-
It’s simply done by clicking on the Login link here or in the header of every page. It’s there for your convenience as soon as you decide you want to be a part of Piece Out Textiles. And we thank you! All you do after clicking on the link is find where it says “Create account.” It will take you where you need to fill in your name and email address and create a password. We suggest before creating your password that you write it down so you can remember it later. Piece Out Textiles has no control over resetting of passwords so it’s up to you to remember it.
-
As part of the Login link, you’ll see “Forgot password?” Click it and you’ll be able to reset your password. Piece Out Textiles has no control over resetting of passwords so we are unable to assist you with this. As long as you have an active email address that you can access, you should receive an email providing you with directions on how to reset it. Please do not create a second account as this will cause problems when it comes to billing you - we won’t know which account to use. Thank you!
-
Short answer: No. There should be no need to have more than one account. Creating two accounts would only cause confusion in our orders department. Please be kind and create only one account with an active email address that you can access with the correct billing and shipping information if requested.
-
No. Each account accesses different information for which you must log in separately to see. You will not see your I need my quilt by scheduled dates in your Piece Out Textiles, LLC’s, account. Nor will you see your orders in the I need my quilt by scheduling system. Please be certain that for both accounts you are using an email address that is active and that you can access if there are any difficulties so that you can be assured you are receiving all email notifications regarding each account.

In the future, it is possible that we will be able to start sending our products and accepting your quilts for our services if you live in one of those areas but not at this time. POText works with distributors who offer a variety of fabric lines. Email us at contactus@pieceouttextiles.com with what you are looking for, and we will check with our distributors to see if they are still carrying it.
NOTE: Textile manufacturers produce a limited amount of fabric, and once all the yardage has been distributed and purchased by retail customers, it is often discontinued. We will do our very best to find what you are looking for, even going as far as sending you to another quilt store we know carries what you’re seeking.
Quilting Services
-
POText’s quilting frame is a 10’ frame. Based on our calculations, the maximum width our frame can hold is 103” x whatever length. Most king-sized quilts fall in the range of 102 x 120. If your quilt top measures either 103” in its length or width, we should be able to quilt it. Please email us at contactus@pieceouttextiles.com prior to submitting your service order so we can discuss the size of your quilt top prior to sending it to us.
-
Due to COVID-19 still remaining a concern for Michigan, we are requesting local customers who want to use our quilting service to place your order through our website.
When you order our quilting services, you have the option of either shipping your quilt top(s) and batting/backing fabric (if you are supplying) to us or doing a curbside drop-off if you are a local customer.
Our ordering system for quilting services was created to assist us in clearly understanding your needs. Before beginning any quilt, we will contact you to be certain the information is correct.
-
Our apologies. If there is a problem with the quilt for which you believe we are responsible, let us know within 72 hours of receiving your quilt at orders@pieceouttextiles.com. If you do not, this policy is null and void.
What we will do is our best, using every reasonable means at our disposal, to come up with a feasible and reasonable solution. If we find we are unable to find a feasible and reasonable solution, Piece Out Textiles, LLC, will issue a store credit for the cost of quilting labor only. Any backing, batting, binding, thread, or any other additional charges, will NOT be included in the store credit. Furthermore, the store credit will not apply to any additional product(s) you may have ordered in conjunction with the quilting services order. Example: You ordered a ruler and you found it was broken and wanted a refund. If there is an issue requiring a return of any product(s), the return policy for products will apply and that policy will be enforced. The store credit is the maximum liability of Piece Out Textiles, LLC, and THIS GUARANTEE SUPERSEDES ANY AND ALL GUARANTIES IMPLIED BY LAW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The store credit will be applied to your account for your use in the future.

Everything you need to know to prepare your quilt for shipping is included in our brochure which you can download and print for your use. If you have further questions after reviewing the brochure, please email us at contactus@pieceouttextiles.com.
One suggestion not mentioned in the brochure is to insure the shipment in order to further protect your quilt.
If you are sending more than one quilt, please place each quilt top with the backing and batting that goes with it in one package with the confirmation order email or piece of paper with name, address, phone and email address that also goes with that quilt. We wouldn’t want to mix them.
-
If you are sending us the batting and backing fabric, be certain that is included in your shipment. Also, if you used our scheduling system and or placed an order through your account, include any confirmation emails you received. At the very least you should include your name, address, phone number, and email address on a piece of paper.
-
Yes, you are welcome to send us your own batting. However, keep in mind if we find issues with your batting, we may request you send us more or purchase some from us. We want to make your quilt a treasure so we will not use anything we feel is inferior that will affect the results you desire.
If you decide to use your own batting, it must be 8 inches more on both the width and length. Example: My quilt top is 40 x 40. The batting and backing fabric should both be 48 x 48.
-
We use the same color and brand of thread in the bobbin as well as the top thread for edge to edge designs.
Using two different colors would fall in the QS-2 and QS-3 semi-custom price range, but let us know when you place your order and we’ll email you to discuss it further.
-
If you find we do not have the color you would like us to use, let us know and we will get it. Our thread selection is constantly changing, so we are placing orders as needed.
When choosing thread for our customers, we will lay out a variety of colors on the quilt top to see which thread works the best with the desired effect you want on your quilt. Example: If you want it to blend, we would chose a neutral color or earth tone color. If you want it to show, we would use something that stands out.
